One word of caution when choosing a bedding for your rabbit, never ever use a clumping litter. If your rabbit happens to ingest any amount of clumping bedding it can kill them! Now that that is out of the way here is what I suggest for a odor controlling bedding.

After owning rabbits for over 20 years I have tried about every product out their. I can tell you that most of them don’t work or are dangerous to your rabbit in some way.

Safe and Absorbent

This bedding is made from dust free, non-recycled wood pulp, or paper as you may call it. The problem with using a recycled product is that it contains dyes and ink from previous products that had printing on them. That is why it is often a gray color or even blue. I do know what specific health issues this can cause your rabbit but I think it is safe to assume that ink is not the best thing for your rabbit to eat. Rabbits will chew on just about anything including their bedding or litter.

The other good thing about using a natural paper bedding is that it absorbs urine very well. Rabbit pee has a lot of ammonia in it which not only smells bad but also can be hazardous to your rabbits health. Rabbits are prone to upper respiratory infections. The worst type is snuffles and unfortunately can kill a rabbit very quickly.
